$35.00 for a year's membership is actually a ridiculously small amount, however there are some events that are open to non-members, or if you know a member you can be guested in.

Don't be silly. It's not about "insular." It's about liability and the legal status of the club and the safety and protection of the guests at a party. If you can't take an hour to attend an orientation to learn the ground rules of the facility and become a member, then someone who has needs to take responsibility for your behavior at a party by "guesting you in."

It has nothing whatsoever to do with keeping people out - and everything to do with making sure the people who are there have had a basic education in what sort of behaviors are allowed and where. Like if you're playing with blood do it in the messy room, and don't leave a drip trail in the carpet on your way to the shower. Or that even though people seem to be reaching out and grabbing each other, this does NOT apply to you if you don't know the person and haven't negotiated the contact. There are general guidelines for not being invasive and specific guidelines for which areas of the club can be used for which activities on which nights.

If you can get a current member to put their membership on the line for you (your misbehavior as their guest having the potential to pull their membership rights), then go to a party as a guest! If not, then go to an orientation and pay your $35 for a full year's access. Either way, we're delighted to see you there. :)

There are plenty of puppy play/animal play people in the city, and yes they have their own collective as it were. :)
