Hi I would like to go to the grind tonight. Being shy I fear I would end sitting alone. Can any one help me prevent this? Thanks

Re: grind tonight
Thu, June 26, 2008 - 2:30 PMHi Amy, and welcome! I won't be at the Grind tonight unfortunately as I'm still recovering from knee surgery, but if you do go, introduce yourself to the EC- event coordinator and any of the folks with Staff badges on, and ask if they can help introduce you to someone to talk to who may have similar interests.
If you're not a member yet and you're going to the new member introduction tonight, then you'll have a good opportunity to break the ice a bit.
The Grind is a noisy event though, so talking can be difficult, but if you pop next door to the Chill, you'll have a better chance for conversation. It may take some time, but in the meantimes there's lots to look at and learn from, so I hope you do go, and have an enjoyable evening! -

Re: grind tonight
Thu, June 26, 2008 - 7:17 PMHI Amy,
Well if you've joined and have a membership, then you have access to the member's message board, where you can post a little info about yourself and what you're interested in. I do see a few crossdressers at the Center, so you don't need to worry about feeling out of place. Another avenue for getting to know people at the center is to attend workshops, come to drop-in nights, and volunteer to help out at events you're interested in. There's something for everyone at the Center for Sex Positive Culture, and any member is empowered to suggest and implement an activity or event of interest. I hope you make it there tonight, and have a good experience. -
